Kids in the Hall Styling in suits

This FAQ (frequently asked questions) is not so much a FAQ about the Kids in the Hall. Rather it's more of a list of questions that people ask me about the Kids.

Q. Is there an official Kids in the Hall Website?

A. Comedy Central maintains one.

Q. Do you have an address (postal or e-mail) where I can write [insert KITH performer name here]?

A. In all honesty, no I don't. I swear! I'm sure there's someone out there that does have an address for them, but I don't possess it.

Q. Are you a Kid in the Hall member?

A. No. I'm just a Texas gal that hears stuff and passes it on.

Q. Have you ever met the Kids?

A. Yes I have. I used to go to the tapings in Toronto. I met various groupings of the guys on those trips by waiting in the lobby after the tapings. Post-KITH era, I have met Dave Foley and Scott Thompson on more than one occasion.

Q. What are the Kids like?

A. They are the nicest guys you will ever meet. They really are. They appreciate their fans and don't usually mind taking photos or signing autographs. They aren't pretentious like some celebrities seem to be. They can't be! They're Canadian! However, if you do ever meet them, don't scare them by being ... well ... scary! We want them to stay nice and friendly to their fans.

Q. Where can I buy Kids in the Hall Videos? Are all the episodes on tape for purchase?

A. There are some episodes of Kids in the Hall on tape, but unfortunately, not very many. You could look in several places, but I think you'll find that Trista Lycosky's site, KITHFAN.ORG has the best compilation of where you can get the existing tapes. 2002 ADDENDUM: You can now get Brain Candy, and Same Guys Different Dresses in video stores near you or on Amazon.com. Now if ONLY they would put the shows (All of them) out on tape and vhs.

Q. I want to get a certain episode on tape [or the variant] ... Where can I swap and trade episodes?

A. I usually suggest posting to the newsgroup, alt.tv.kids-in-hall, you can get to there via Google.

Q. Didn't you use to have a newsletter on the Kids?

A. From 1992-1994, I did have a newsletter called Memos from A.T. & Love. When the Kids parted ways, I pretty much disbanded the zine. I had planned to put it on the web, when I first learned HTML, but like all good procrastinators, I never got around to it.

Q. I'm looking for a transcript of [insert sketch here] or ... I'm looking for the words to the Terrier Song [other KITH songs]?

A. Again, I will refer you to Trista's site, KITHFAN.ORG. If it ain't there, it's probably not anywhere.

Q. Is there a Kids in the Hall book in the works? Didn't I read somewhere that YOU were writing a KITH book?

A. Dicey question. I do know of a woman who has been writing a book on comedy that features the Kids in the Hall heavily. It's not published yet, but it's nearly completed. Ed Johnson-Ott, a film reviewer for NUVO, Jennifer Gardner and myself did talk about compiling an episode guide. But real life kind of got in the way of the project and nothing ever really happened on that front.

Q. When will there be a Kids in the Hall reunion?

A. Well check my home page. It seems that mid-January 2000, there will indeed be a Kids in the Hall reunion tour. This tour is in conjunction with Comedy Central. Check their page and mine for more details. More 2002 additions: There was a 2002 tour that ended in June. But continue to check my site. If a new one surfaces, I will attempt to post all the relevent information.

Q. Is there an episode guide anywhere on the net?

A. There's one located in the FAQ located at Stanford. Just look towards the bottom of that page. It's pretty outdated and KithFan.org put one out that's updated to the year 2000. And there's a piss-poor example of the guide here also.

Q. Hey, didn't you use to have a bulletin board?

A. Yes I did. It was a nice little board. Some folks did trades other either chatted about the Kids or passed information on it. Then the trolls came. Some got banned and others ... well let's just say the board was becoming more time consuming than it needed to be, so rather than let the trolls run rampant and scare off everyone else, I decided to dismantle the board.
