An Evening with Funny Canadians, sponsored by Humber College and the Humber School of Comedy, will be held on Sunday, April 1, 2001 at 8:00 p.m. in the Apotex Theatre, Toronto Centre for the Performing Arts.
Hosted by Ralph Benmergui, the event is a benefit for the Humber School of Comedy. Proceeds will go to a scholarship fund for students enrolled in the College's Comedy: Writing and Performance programs.
The Humber School of Comedy is unique as an educational experience. No other institution can turn funny people into comedians. The School offers the first programs that takes the business of comedy seriously and produces and promotes comedy writers and performers. The advisory committee includes Rick Moranis, Joe Flaherty, George Shapiro, Marlene Smith, Dave Thomas, Eugene Levy, Perry Rosemond, Bruce Jay Friedman, Anne Beatts, and Mark Breslin.
Tickets, at $30, $40, $50 (general) and $20 (students and seniors), are available at the Toronto Centre for the Performing Arts box office and at Ticketmaster.
The Toronto Centre for the Performing Arts is located at 5040 Yonge Street at the North York Centre subway stop.
